Halloween is past, and now November has dropped in our lap and said hiya honey, I’m home!  The holiday season is upon us, like it or not.  Stores have decorations, and are declaring Black Friday to be every Friday between now and July 4th I think.  Consider my voice added to the cacophony of those bemoaning the crass commercialization of the holiday season.  Overt political correctness, marketing blitzes, and a sense of OMG There Is Only XX Days Until Christmas!!!

Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday.  It is one that appeals on many levels, but it gives me a sense of place.  There are times in November that I can renew my faith in humanity, and good naturedness. With all the changes in life over the last few years, this Thanksgiving still affords me a tremendous amount to be thankful for, and I will see to it that we try to make it a better one for someone else that needs a boost.  Take care of our neighbors.  Help someone out as your way of being thankful.  I would like to see stories of what you do or what you see others do.  Lets have a good time doing the little things that really add up to make a difference.
