Dealing with no.

As job seekers, we tend to hear a lot of no thank you.  We have to face facts, that it is an employer’s market out there when it comes to selecting candidates for open positions.  Remember however, a “no thanks” is an opportunity to get feedback.  I know you have heard that before.  Always follow up and ask what could you do better to improve your chances for that type position.  It does work.  I was a not believer in that practice until this week I had the opportunity to get some coaching after being told I was not selected for further consideration.  I got the feedback on what I would have needed to better showcase as well as what training I might should look at taking.

Use the Job Seeker’s No as a chance to improve.   You have the connection with that hiring manager, use it.  Get the feedback.  It takes the sting out, a little anyway.
